Excellent Snowboarding gear!!! A true Bum saver!!

Loved the overall comfort and fit:
pros: has good tail bone, hip, and lateral thigh protection, lightweight, breathable mesh keeping you cool and dry
Cons: a bit on the pricey side, would be better if to have spandex material/wick away,

Overall: ideal for wearing over thermals. 8/10 for snowboarding! They did save my butt several times on a 3 day snowboarding trip!

Not meant for snowbaording

I don't know about you but when i do fall while snowbaording it is usually not on my hips. Rather more of my butt and backbone. But this pair of "Bumsaver" doesnt really protect your butt as the title sugests. It has lots of padding on the hips and thighs but not enough for the butt. In fact the tailbone pad is too short that you really need to hike up your pants above waist level to make sure that when you do fall it will have some protection.

Pros: very breathable, stylish and very minimalist. Can't really tell you have it on and makes you look like you have some strong quads!

Saving my 40 year old behind, literally.

THESE ARE FANTASTIC! I use them for snowboarding and inline skating, two activities where I fall A LOT. The truest test for these shorts was five hard falls on asphalt last week while skating, and I didn't even feel it--no bruising, no soreness. The shorts provide great all around padded coverage (including a tailbone pad) and stretchy breathable fabric. I just give them a quick handwash in the sink and 24 hours to dry. I don't think machine washing is a good idea, as the pads are not removable and might get twisted up even though they are sewn in pretty tight. As for visibility, I skate in baggy cargos and these shorts are not visible at all underneath the cargos or my ski clothes. Well worth it, and I have so much more fun at both sports now because I'm not as afraid of falling.
